Overview
Leadership transitions and updates to a franchisor’s Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) that details new policies, fees, or operational standards can raise questions throughout a franchise system. F2 helps brands develop clear, internal communications plans so franchisees understand the changes, the reasons behind them, and the actions required.
From preparing announcements and building frequently asked questions (FAQ) to presentation training for executives and guiding the roll-out, F2 counsels leadership teams on communicating consistently throughout the transition. The goal is to address concerns, maintain trust, and give franchisees the information they need to adapt. It’s critical to proactively communicate change, in order to avoid change becoming a crisis.

Common questions
What kinds of changes does F2 help communicate?
FDD updates, fee or policy changes, leadership transitions, independent franchisee association formation, technology and equipment requirements, and updates to mission, vision, and values. Any business model change requires proactive internal communications.
Why does a franchise system need a communications plan for a policy change?
It’s essential that a franchise system prepares and thoughtfully executes an internal communications plan to announce and explain the rationale behind any substantive business model changes. Any FDD change requires such a plan. Just because franchisors can make changes, doesn’t mean they should without the why. Without such a communications plan, a change can quickly become a crisis.
Does F2 write the materials or advise on them?
After its Discovery stage, F2 develops a detailed communications plan, drafts all of the communications materials and counsels leadership through implementation. Depending on the significance of the change, an engagement may last from 60 days to 6 months.
